COMING SOON - 2001 SUMMER COMPETITION SCHEDULE

It’s almost time again for summer competitions at BCAF on Sunday afternoons!

This schedule covers the summer through to the start of the USFA season in September. We have been running these competitions over for eighteen years and as their reputation has increased, so has the attendance and level of the competitions. In the last few years, foil events have been drawing 25 to 30 entries, and epée typically 15 to 18 entries, both equivalent to Group I or Group II levels. In sabre, we’ve begun to see increased attendance in the last few summers: 12 to 14 entries, typically, and a greater representation of women sabre fencers.

New Hope is busy with tourists in the summer, and is a fun place to visit. If you are not certain how to reach the fencing academy or have not been here on a weekend, please call for travel and parking directions.

These events are not sanctioned USFA events. They are for fun and practice after the end of the USFA season schedule. Please note that we do have written permission from the United States Fencing Association for USFA fencers to participate in these events.

ENTRY INFORMATION

The time listed is the CHECK-IN CLOSING time. Doors will open one half hour before the close of check-in.

Children's Foil: Competitors must be 6 - 9 years of age. 

Junior Foil: Competitors must be 10 - 14 years of age.

The entry fee is $15.00 for all events.

Medals will be awarded to the top three places in events with ten or more entries.

All events are open to both men and women.

Events are open to all fencers – USFA membership is not required.

Events are conducted according to USFA rules.

Foil, epee, and children’s foil events will be conducted electrically. Sabre events will be electric/dry optional.
